Myofascial Release Therapy

Ever wonder why you feel sensation in different body parts when you get a massage, let’s say on your neck? Or why a doctor asks you a million questions about tasks or movements that seem unrelated to your injury, but they are insistent that it is relevant/important?

This picture perfectly demonstrates the importance of fascia and fascial release! ️️

The blue line is a boarder separating different pockets of fascia groups. These groups encase muscles, nerves, blood vessels, lymph, organs, and bone!

Notice the vagus nerve sits next to the carotid and jugular vessels at the level of the C6 vertebra (bottom of the neck spine). Restrictions in the space between these structures is what leads to fascial tightness: this can cause muscle strain, tear, high blood pressure, poor lymph drainage, stress fractures, chronic pain, fibromyalgia flare ups, etc etc etc.

This shows a more in-depth picture of our abdomen including a few organs and blood vessels, bones, and muscles surrounded by fascia.

It can go deeper than this. The fascial system is so deeply connected with our nervous system. It is the tissue that holds and retains trauma; physical, emotional, spiritual. But it can also be healed to replace that trauma with JOY

"Joy is a radical act" - James Baldwin
